Edward Lewis Gaylord (1919-2003) was a leading figure in Oklahoma Media. Gaylord worked for the Oklahoma Publishing Company for over thirty years before taking over operations of [[the Oklahoman]] upon the death of his father in 1974. Gaylord also served as president of the State Fair of Oklahoma, and chairman of the board of directors of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. He died of cancer in 2003 at the age of 83.
