J W Simmons Boulevard is an east/west street located in northeast Oklahoma City. It is named for J.W. Simmons of the Oklahoma City traffic commission. The street had no name or street signs prior to 1986 even though it had been constructed a few years earlier. The oversight was corrected in the summer of 1986 when a name as well as a 35 mile per hour speed limit were both posted.
