Charlie Christian (1916-1942) was a jazz guitarist. Born in Texas, Christian and his family moved to Oklahoma City when he was a small child. He attended [[Douglass High School]] where he was taught music by [[Zelia Breaux]]. Christian would go on to play in Benny Goodman's band before his untimely death at the age of 25. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame in 1989, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
